Timbaland Files Lawsuit Against Blackground Records

With success comes greed and that is what Timbaland claims happened with Blackground Records, and now he wants out of the contract and is seeking compensation for damages

Timbaland has filed a suit with the Federal District court against his label, claiming that they tried to smear his success.  In the beginning, when he was first making the transition from singer to producer, the company had no issues – but as he became more successful, they conspired to bring him down.

The suit claims that the record company contacted various labels in an attempt to talk them out of hiring Timbaland in a producer capacity.  He claims they became jealous and hostile, and they owe him some serious cash.

Who has the singer collaborated with?  There are too many to list but a few big stars include; Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Leona Lewis, 50 Cent and Duran Duran.

  1. Blackground Records had small indie artist Danian’s Gonna Rock Your Body clip banned from You Tube for Copyright infringement when they had absolutley no basis or grounds for doing so, shame on Blackground Records if Background Records thinks they have any case of Copyright infringement on any song show it to us!!!!
This song was written & produced by upcoming indie producer Darrin Phillips of Flow City Records Canada in 2008 and Blackground records has no proof of any copyright infringement.

I encourage Blackground records to contact me if they truly feel they have any kind of claim!

  2. Cheers to Timbaland!!!

  3. I believe also had two great clips removed from You Tube featuring Lil Steph solo and Lil Steph with Dedson. Unbelievable as these are videos of the talented girls hip hop dancing and I guess Blackground had the copyright on the music…pathetic

  4. There was great footage of Aaliyah LIVE in Holland in 1995. Heard that Blackground has banned YouTube from showing the clips (Blackground may own the music and lyrics but not the archive film footage, as they are owned by a UK based producer.)
