Andy Hallett Dead at 33
Andy Hallett, 33, best known for playing the part of Lorne (The Host) on the television series “Angel,” died Sunday night at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.
Hallett, who had been battling heart disease for five years, died from heart failure, with his father, Dave Hallett, by his side.
Hallett, from the Cape Cod village of Osterville, Massachusetts, moved to Los Angeles and got his first acting job when Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon saw him singing in a Universal City Blues revue. Whedon conceived the character of “The Host” for Buffy spin-off Angel. Hallett was invited to try out and got the part.
In recent years, Hallett had been working on his music career.
A private funeral service will be held this weekend in Cape Cod.
