The date was November 7, 2006 and Kirstie Alley appeared on The Oprah Show, rocking a brown bikini. That was then. She is a guest of Oprah today and much has changed since that snapshot in time. See Oprah’s Golden Ticket Sweepstakes here.

The actress ended her successful run with Jenny Craig some sixteen months ago and told her loyal fans that she would be launching her own weight loss system. It didn’t materialize and now she’s put the weight back on.

ET received a response from a Jenny Craig rep, who said “Jenny Craig maintains a friendly relationship with Kirstie and we are proud of her accomplishments while she was on our program. Kirstie successfully lost 75 lbs and maintained that weight loss throughout our 3 year relationship, which came to an end in December 2007. We remain supportive of Kirstie, wish her nothing but the best, and we would welcome her back at any time as a returning client.”

November 2009 UPDATE: Kirstie Alley will be featured in a new A&E reality docu-series that will take viewers through her new weight-loss program. The 10 half-hour shows will showcase the 58-year-old during her latest weight loss mission. The shows will air in 2010. See details and a before and after photo gallery here.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick Expecting Twins

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are expecting twins.

The “Sex and the City” star and her husband “are happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate. The entire family is overjoyed,” said a statement from their publicists.

According to a friend of the couple, they have been trying to expand their family since the birth of 6-year-old son James, but have been unsuccessful.

“They came to the conclusion that this was going to be the best alternative for expanding their family,” the friend told Entertainment Weekly.

Parker is currently filming “Did You Hear About the Morgans?” with Hugh Grant.

Broderick’s latest film “Wonderful World” premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this week, and he is currently starring in “The Philanthropist” on Broadway.

Porn Star Sasha Grey Stars in Soderbergh Film

21-year-old porn star Sasha Grey has landed a plum role in Steven Soderbergh‘s new film “The Girlfriend Experience,” which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival on Tuesday.

Grey, who has starred in over 150 porn films since the start of her career at age 18, plays a $2000-an-hour call girl trying to juggle a boyfriend with the demands of her career. Hmmm, typecast much?

Sodebergh says he became interested in Grey after reading an article about her in Los Angeles Magazine, and is counting on the publicity surrounding her casting to help promote the film.

“This girl has a huge following. Most of whatever discussion that’s going on is totally based on her. She’s kind of a new breed. There hasn’t been anyone exactly like her in that business yet. She’s not the normal adult film star.”

Carrie Prejean: Breast Implants Paid For By Miss California Pageant Organization

The reigning Miss California, Carrie Prejean, is by now a household name because of the way she answered the question about same sex marriage. The first runner-up to Miss USA 2009 believes that her controversial response cost her the crown.

Not only did she enrage people, but she is currently feuding with the Miss California USA pageant organization. Co-directors Shanna Moakler and Keith Lewis were vocal in their condemnation of her belief that she favors the tradition marriage between a man and a woman. Communication between Prejean and pageant officials has ceased and there is strong speculation that Carrie Prejean will be stripped of her state crown. We now know that that didn’t happen. But what we do know is that Moakler has resigned as pageant director.

Billy Bush of Access Hollywood asked Moakler about rumors that Prejean had a breast implant procedure in the weeks leading up to the national pageant and that it had been funded by the Miss California pageant organization. Bush inquired, “Did you guys pay for it?” Shauna responded, “Yes we did. It was something that we all spoke about together. It was an option and she wanted it. And we supported that decision.”

Mockler claims that it is no longer a rarity to see beauty contestants who have undergone breast augmentation procedures. The days of beauty queen’s relying solely on their natural beauty have apparently gone by the wayside. Another myth destroyed….heavy sigh.

Prejean was on The Today Show this morning and broke the news that she will be working with The National Organization For Marriage – read that to mean ‘traditional’ marriage. It looks like she may be walking away from her pageant life with this new revelation.

Vern Gosdin Dies

Country music singer/songwriter Vern Gosdin has died in Nashville at age 74.

Gosdin, the rich baritone known as “The Voice,” suffered a stroke several weeks ago and was under hospice care. He passed away late Tuesday at a Nashville hospital.

Gosdin’s song “Chiseled in Stone” was voted CMA Song of the Year in 1989. Other hits include “Set ‘em Up Joe,” “I Can Tell by the Way You Dance,” “I’m Still Crazy,” “That Just About Does It,” “Who You Gonna Blame It on This Time,” “Way Down Deep,” “Dream of Me” and “Yesterday’s Gone.”
