Back in October of 2006 it was revealed that former Charlie’s Angels star Farrah Fawcett was suffering from anal cancer.  A film crew has been chronicling her fight for the last two years as she goes between Los Angeles and Germany, where she is undergoing controversial treatments for her cancer.

The documentary A Wing and a Prayer was just picked up by the execs over at NBC, though no air date has been set.  Filmmaker Craig Nevius feel that the project will help to promote cancer awareness.   He said, “The film will do what Farrah has done so well – get people’s attention and get them talking.  Those are always the first steps effecting social change of any kind.”

The reason that Farrah has chosen to get her treatment in Germany is because they provide embryonic stem cell cancer treatment, which has not been available in the United States.
