Snoop Dogg One of Many Artist to Remix Johnny Cash Hits
Rap artist Snoop Dogg is set to remix I Walk the Line, originally sung by the late Johnny Cash. Snoop isn’t the only artist interested in reshaping the country legend’s music. Beyonce’s father Mathew Knowles and Cash’s son John Carter Cash are working on the project and have engaged other modern hip-hop and R&B stars to add their sounds to an album.
Johnny’s family are all in favor of the remix album. In fact John had this to say about the project:
“My father made his stead defying the expected and accepted way of things. He set the standard at the same time. He would have loved this remix record. While it stays true to the original recordings, the CD touches on uncovered ground. My father was about staying true to tradition while creating groundbreaking music.”
Other Cash hits that will be featured on the album include, Get Rhythm, Leave That Junk Alone, Folsom Prison Blues and Rock Island Line.
We wonder if Joaquin Phoenix will appear on the CD? He had a role in the movie Walk the Line, not to mention that fact that he’s a rapper now!
