Jon & Kate Plus 8 Cover Ladies Home Journal May 2009
The Gosselin family of Jon & Kate Plus 8 fame grace the cover of Ladies Home Journal magazine’s May 2009 issue. Their popular reality television show on TLC has had the internet buzzing for months when it became apparent that the couple was experiences marital problems. The latest edition hits newsstands on April 14.
The busy family of ten, including almost 5 year old sextuplets and 8 year old twins, have charmed and aggravated viewers over the course of four seasons. Kate Gosselin has probably made the biggest transformation of the group, going from harried mother and housewife to traveling spokesperson and author. Now that her brood is old enough to be semi self-sufficient, she has engaged in a good deal of media promotion that has been a mixed blessings for the once tight family unit. Thought it has undoubtedly allowed the family to move into an upscale new home, it has taken its toll in other ways.
Kate’s blossoming transformation has had the opposite effect on poor Jon Gosselin. He is shouldering more of the hearth and home duties while his diva bride is suddenly into spa treatments, shopping and being away for days at a time. Kate has also taken on an aura of superiority and seizes many opportunities to ‘lord it over’ her husband of nearly 10 years. If she brow beats him in front of the camera, what must it be like when the film crew goes home?
The season four finale spoke of Jon’s growing displeasure with being in the limelight, including his gut feeling that he had lost his own personal identity. He shared the fact that he was conflicted about entering into a fifth season on the show. Jon has apparently come to grips with the rumors of his infidelity, including the controversial photo that surfaced, because season five is currently being filmed, with the first new episodes airing at the end of May.
For those who need a ‘fix’ sooner, the family has filmed a TLC one-hour ‘going green’ special that will air on April 19. They have teamed up with Steve Thomas, the host of Planet Green’s Renovation Nation. See photos and details here.

I’m disappointed that Jon and Kate will be back for a 5th season.
They need to get their lives back, and work out their problems. Kate boasted at one time on how they did so much when the babies were tiny without help. That was stupid, and it now shows with them having so little time for themselves, called a social life. They go to church, well Kate needs to heed church teachings as to how husbands are to be treated. She treats Jon like one of the kids, his comments/wants decisions are overrode by Kate the B word. She is overprotective of the kids and her clean freak ways. So what if they get dirty, so what if Jon is giving them turns riding on the tractor, so what if he didn’t use her stupid coupon. Jon needs to become the man of the house, and work outside the home like he would prefer doing. Who wants to be with each other 24/7. Kate needs to forget this traveling, which gives Jon too much playing time. She is not a celebrity, and if Jon didn’t want a 5th season, they needed to get counseling on this, so they could come to an agreement. Forget this TV stuff, your personal lives are more important. Concentrate on parenting and putting a stop to some of the whining a few of these kids do. Don’t tolerate such nonsense.

Tis it your business and the rest of us should bud out. I have been married for 26years and I in my 40’s still and my husband and I have had our ups and down, but keeping the lines of communication open between us always and private seems to work for us. I will be the first to say life is not easy, but what else is so important that we must keep what we grown and keep on going and growing. love 2 u 2 patrice
Dear Jon and Kate,
My name is Kayla. I am twenty years old and I absolutely love your show. I don’t even know your kids personally, but I have fallen in live with them. When I was in high school, I was a teachers aide for a kindergarten class and I just love kids. When your show came out, I fell in love with it. I still love it. You and Jon give them so many opportunites and show them right from wrong. Ya’ll are wonderful parents and you have a beautiful family.
I will say I was a little shocked when I read in a magazine about all that crap. I honestly don’t believe. For some reason, people are dogging on you Kate for being a good mom!I don’t get it. My goodness, if i had eight kids i would be stressed out to no end. I don’t think people realize how hard ya’ll work for your kids. Ya’lls show is your job and when you write books, I mean thats how you make a living and I don’t think people realize that either. I mean ya’lls show is VERY REAL. I don’t like that Duggar show cause it just seems very fake to me, but thats my opinion. I love love Jon and Kate Plus Eight. I don’t want ya’ll to quit. I seriously think I would cry lol. I actually learn from watching your show. I don’t have any kids right now, but when I do decide to have kids, I wanna raise mine like ya’ll do. They are so well-behaved and loving. You give them so many opportunites and chances for them to learn and be exposed to good things. And as far as how you treat Jon, sometimes you gotta smack men in line sometimes lol.. Thats just the way it is. Kate, you do a great job, but I will say this, its ok to have fun and loosen up and I think you have done alot better : ) Anyway, keep on going and forget about all this crap that people are making up! I love you guys and I will pray for all of you guys : )
my boss used to work with Jon when he was a teacher’s aid or some such thing….he said that Jon was the most personalitiless guy he had ever met and he couldn’t believe that Jon had become famouseven it is just for overpopulating the world. He also said that Jon acted as if he felt he was superior even then…Oh yeah..and even then he seemed to think Kate was a B*TCH.
