Who can forget Sanjaya Malakar from the sixth season of American Idol?  He is now 19 years old and has just signed on to appears on the NBC reality show I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

The teen was just sixteen when he became the weekly whipping boy of Simon Cowell and still managed to take 7th place in the Idol competition, thanks to his huge fan base.  He has since published a book and an album, both titled Dancing to the Music in My Head.

An unlikely group of ten contestants will kick things off on June 1, 2009 in the jungles of Costa Rica.  They include The Hills couple Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, who plan to get married ‘for real’ on the season finale of their reality show at the end of April.  We will also see Duane Chapman aka Dog The Bounty Hunter,  Geraldo Rivera and disgraced former governor Rod Blagojevich, and model Janice Dickinson.

The NBC show will air at 8:00 ET four nights each week for three weeks, with the finale airing on June 24.  Check out photos of the misfit adventurers below.
