Twenty-three years ago Mickey Rourke and Kim Basinger heated up the big screen with their movie 9 1/2 Weeks and now they are together again in the thriller, The Informers, which is due in theaters on May 1st.

Rourke, making a big comeback in his career, won many accolades for his work in the movie The Wrestler and Basinger didn’t let his wonderful performance go unnoticed.  She took the time to send Mickey a heart-felt note expressing how much she loved the movie.  Mickey, being the sensitive guy that he is, admitted that the note brought tears to his eyes.

Even though the two actors have come together to star in another movie, they didn’t get any screen time together.  Last Thursday the two were on the red carpet for the world premiere of The Informers at the Arclight Theater in Hollywood. Rourke said he was very nervous.

The movie has several big names, including Billy Bob Thornton, Winona Ryder, Jon Foster, Amber Heard, Rhys Ifans, Chris Isaak.
