Madlyn Primoff: Lawyer Abandons Daughters on Side of Road
Madlyn Primoff, an attorney for a prominent Park Avenue law firm, was arrested after abandoning her daughters on the side of the road in White Plains, New York.
Primoff, a partner at Kaye Scholer, was fed up with bickering between her 10 and 12-year-old daughters and kicked them out of the car in White Plains business district.
The 45-year-old mom let her 12-year-old daughter back in when she caught up with the car, however, the 10-year-old was spotted wandering around the corner in tears by a good Samaritan, who contacted police.
The young girl was “very upset” and “emotional” according to the police report.
Primoff reported her daughter missing, and was arrested when the family arrived at the police station to pick up the child. She was charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, and released on bond.

Well this tactic worked when I was a kid….(for a few blocks which is what this mom was doing) but then back then not every foot of earth had a pedophile or rapist walking it….
Listening to their constant bickering and trying to drive she just didn’t think of the consequences.
Bottom line…..kids need more dicipline at home outside of the car.
Get them off the ipods, internet…….into the kitchen and laundry room and see if their attitude doesn’t improve.
Parents and kids all just don’t know how to appropriately handle stress anymore.
I don’t believe Ms. Primoff planned to completely abandon her children. I do think she shouldn’t have gone more than a block to prove her point, going the full three miles did bring some legal issues into play. I have two girls 13 and 11 and because they are so close in age they tend to bicker, but its nothing uncommon or out of the ordinary. And while I have never kicked them out of the vehicle; I have threatened and felt like doing so. While she should be arrested, I don’t think she should be harshly punished. She should get some sort of parenting class and community service with children.
She just did what some of us parents think of doing when our children bicker and distract us from the road.notes of a desperate mother
