Jay Leno has been hospitalized for what is being described as a possible case of food poisoning.  He reported to work on the NBC set of The Tonight Show earlier today but fell ill and was taken across the street to the Providence St. Joseph Medical Center for treatment.   The show host is represented by Tracy St. Pierre, who first provided details to the press.

Thursday night’s taping of his nighttime talk show has been canceled.  NBC announced that a March 23rd rerun featuring guests Prince, Emma Roberts and Paul Giamatti will air.  Scheduled to appear tonight were actor Ryan Reynolds, animal trainer Jules Sylvester and swing band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

In a statement issued by the network, they said “Jay Leno is doing just fine.  He was kidding around with the hospital staff and running his monologue jokes by the doctors and nurses.”
