I agree. It doesn’t matter the age difference. I believe women are jealous of Deb so they respond with such remarks regarding age or dress in an effort to make themselves feel better (that includes myself!).

P.S. Bsk, I do believe you meant “stigma,” not “enigma.”

I met and fell in love with a man 10 years my junior. We loved each other very much, but because of the enigma placed socially, I bowed out of the relationship. I wish I had had the courgae to pay no attention to what others would think. I say, “Good for Hugh and Deb for following their hearts”. BTW, I still love this man, but he is married to another woman, and I to another man. It is so sad that “people” get in the way of others’ happiness.

But, what difference does it make? They seem to be happy. It’s no different than an older mand marrying a much younger woman. I am Deb’s age, and I would marry a younger man if I truly loved him.
