Kelly McGillis, 51, confirmed rumors that she is a lesbian, and says she is in the market for a new partner.

McGillis, who played Tom Cruise’s love interest in the 1980’s hit film “Top Gun,” has been married and divorced twice, but says she is “done with the man thing.”

In an internet interview with Girl Rock!, McGillis says that her coming out was “an ongoing process from the time I was probably 12.”  She continues that she believed God was punishing her because she was gay when she was raped in 1982.

“Life is a journey and it’s about growing and changing and coming to terms with who and what you are and loving who and what you are,” McGillis says.
