The long anticipated Star Trek film will hit movie theaters on May 8.   The Hollywood premiere took place last night at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and it was a star-studded red carpet.

The action adventure sci-fi flick, directed by J.J. Abrams, is a chronicle of the early days of Captain James T. Kirk and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise. We find them fighting Romulans from the future, who are attempting to intervene with history by destroying the Federation.

The cast includes Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Eric Bana, Leonard Nimoy, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Peg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Bruce Greenwood, Ben Cross, Clifton Collins Jr. and Chris Hemsworth.

Celebs on the red carpet included Kendra Wilkinson, Amanda Bynes, Heidi Klum, Hayden Panettiere, Winona Ryder, Nichollette Sheridan, Tori Spelling, Kristin Cavallari, Leighton Meester and Rachel Nichols.
