Back in 2005 rapper Snoop Dogg aka Calvin Broadus was performing at the White River Amphitheater in Seattle, Washington when a fan decided to join Snoop on stage.  That fan, Richard Monroe, Jr.  filed a $22 million lawsuit alleging that he was severely beat by the rapper and his entourage.

Monroe said that Snoop hit him in the head with his microphone after he jumped on stage and put his hand on the rapper’s shoulder.  We hate to say it but we might have been tempted to give him a little knock on the head too!  Anyway, Monroe said he was then taken off the stage and received a beating at the hands of Snoops security guards.

Snoop did show up for part of the trial to testify against Monroe, but was not present for the final ruling.  The judge cleared Snoop of any wrongdoing but did grant the victim a sum of $449,400 in damages because he felt the security boys were heavy handed in escorting the man out of the building.  The money will be paid by Broadus’ label Doggystyle, rapper Soopafly and other unnamed parties.
