Susan Boyle Hospitalized After ‘Emotional Breakdown’

Susan Boyle was hospitalized on Sunday evening following what was described as a breakdown after her second-place finish on Britain’s Got Talent.

According to reports, the 48-year-old was seen wandering around her London hotel looking disoriented. Staffers from Britain’s Got Talent contacted police and Boyle was assessed under the Mental Health Act and taken by paramedics to Priory Clinic – a mental health facility – in London.

“It was all done very calmly. They didn’t want to stress or upset her. She didn’t look well – she looked lost, not all there,” said a source.

A spokesperson for the reality show issued a statement, saying, “Following Saturday’s show, Susan is exhausted and emotionally drained. She has been seen by her private GP, who supports her decision to take a few days out for rest and recovery. We offer her our ongoing support and wish her a speedy recovery.”

Earlier in the week, Boyle reportedly had a meltdown after being harassed by two reporters in the lobby of her London hotel.

Now this really is sad…She was not prepared for this ride (not many ppl could be). Seems like she just enjoyed singing, now she will have this stigma attached to her forever.

My heart truly goes out to Susan Boyle and I hope she recovers very soon. The media and paparazzi are hard enough on the stars who live by them for fame and fortune like Jolie and Pitt. They use it to their advantage then claim they are victims. Poor Susan only wanted to sing for the Queen….her dream. She has to be commended for being so gracious on stage when she learned she wasn’t the winner of Britain’’s Got Talent. And you could see it had taken it’s toll on her. It’s unfortunate she got caught up in ugly side of fame because she didn’t deserve that. Whereas Jolie and Pitt will use it to milk box office sales for their latest movies and VERY SELF-SERVING charity acts. They could learn a lesson or two fro Susan Boyle about what it means to be humble.
