Babyshambles lead singer Pete Doherty is known for his overindulgence of drugs and his hard living ways.  On Friday the star was arrested upon arriving in Geneva, Switzerland, after airline officials reported that he had been using drugs during the flight.

Pete entered a restroom on the plane and was later found by a member of the British Airways crew slumped over on the toilet seat.  After further investigation the crew found a hypodermic needle in the lavatory and alerted police.  In their statement to authorities, they indicated that Doherty seemed to be intoxicated when he returned to his assigned seat in the main cabin.

For the last five years it has been public knowledge that the singer has battled addiction to crack cocaine and heroin.  After his arrest, police reported that he was given a fine and that he paid it and was released.

It seems to be just another slight bump in the road for Pete because he went on with his schedule and performed that evening at the Neuchatel Open Air Festival.
