Phil Spector has always been an odd looking fellow, even under the best of circumstances.  Last week the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation released a new photo of the incarcerated murderer and it was quite revealing.

It turns out Phil has been wearing a wig up until now.  That has all changed for the former music producer, who will spend the next 19 years to life in a California prison after being convicted of second-degree murder in the death of Lana Clarkson.  According to regulations, wigs and hairpieces are forbidden unless they are deemed medically necessary.

The felon’s wife weighed in on the subject and cleared up the mystery.  Rachelle Spector said, “They took my husband’s freedom and dignity.  So why not his hair?  This is a personal matter but in case you don’t know, they don’t allow for much accessorizing while in prison.”
