“Umbrella” singer Rihanna was served a summons, initiated by L.A. prosecutors on Tuesday, to testify against singer Chris Brown.  Brown, who has already plead not guilty to two felony counts for assaulting Rihanna, will begin his preliminary hearing on June 22nd.

The reason for the preliminary hearing is to ensure that when Brown goes to trial there will be enough damning evidence to charge him.  Rihanna is expected to answer her questions truthfully.  Depending on her recollection, Brown’s future is in Rihanna’s hands.

There is a chance that a plea bargain could be reached during the preliminary hearing.  It should be interesting to see how things play out.  More on the story at People.com.
