Brad Pitt and Angelia Jolie Donate $1 Million to St. John’s Hospital
One thing that you will probably never read in the headlines is that Brad Pitt and girlfriend Angelina Jolie are stingy. These two compassionate celebrities have donated millions to advance many worthwhile causes.
This time, Pitt and Jolie have written a check for $1 million to St. John’s Hospital in Brad’s hometown of Springfield, Missouri. Brad’s brother Doug Pitt is heading up this cause and announced the generous contribution, stating that the money will go towards an endowment fund used to pay for the services of children in need of cancer specialists.
The cancer treatment center at St. John’s Hospital will be renamed the Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center, in honor of Brad’s mother, who also finds this particular cause near and dear to her heart.
The endowment will also fund a new pediatric unit, consisting of ten new units at the hospital based Ronald McDonald House. This expansion will double the existing space at the neonatal and pediatric intensive care unit.
St. John’s is matching the $1 million donation.
