Chilling images continue to pour out of Iran amidst violent protests against the alleged rigged election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Despite a warning from Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khomeini, to end the demonstrations, thousands of opposition protesters flooded the streets in Tehran.

Police and pro-government militiamen fired live rounds, tear gas and water cannons at demonstrators protesting the disputed election.

A YouTube video of a young Iranian woman as she lay dying in the streets of Tehran after being shot in the chest, has become a symbol of the uprising.
