Mariah Carey Apologizes For Her Performance (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Mariah Carey sang I’ll Be There

Singing diva Mariah Carey is troubled by her emotional performance at the Michael Jackson memorial service held at Staples Center on Tuesday.  She and Trey Lorenz performed the Jackson 5 hit I’ll Be There, and at times she struggled to get any sound out at all while trying to hit the high notes of the song.

Afterward, she took the matter to her Twitter page.  She told her million followers, “I am sorry that I wasn’t able to pull it together and really do it right but I was literally choked up when I saw him there in front of me.  Trying to sing today was basically impossible for me.  I could barely keep myself from crying.”

We thought the entire service was amazing, including Carey’s heart felt emotional performance.   If you missed it or want to watch it again – see the Full Video Memorial Service here.  We’ve also got the memorial service photo gallery here.

  1. what she should be apologizing for is wearing a plunging neckline and baring her breasts at a funeral.
even controversial janet j. dressed appropriately conservative.

  2. Singing off-key or not hitting the notes or for that matter voice cracking up cant be justified. Mariah Carey just couldnt sing and that was the truth of the matter.
And what was with the boob show in a memorial service?
    Is anybody managing Mariah?
