Maura Tierney Quits Parenthood Project
It was announced last week that the NBC series Parenthood would be delayed for eight weeks because actress Maura Tierney was suddenly unavailable because of a personal matter. That has since changed and the celeb has pulled out of the television project completely.
Tierney had an operation to remove a breast tumor that was recently discovered. Her doctors have assured her that her condition is very treatable and they expect a good outcome. Tierney admits, “I will not know either my exact diagnosis or course of treatment until that surgery is performed.”
NBC will premiere a medical drama Mercy in the fall, as a replacement. Tierney, who only filmed a pilot, has decided to bow out of the show and her part will be recast and filming can resume.
