Debbie Rowe, the mother of Michael Jackson‘s two oldest children, has filed a lawsuit against Rebecca White over false claims the woman made in a paid interview with Extra TV.

In a story that aired on July 14, Rebecca White claimed to be a close friend and confidant of Rowe. The Florida woman provided an Extra reporter with the detailed contents of several e-mails that Rowe reportedly had exchanged with her since Jackson’s death. White indicated that Rowe didn’t want the children and was motivated by money to negotiate with the Jackson family.

Rowe’s defamation and invasion of privacy lawsuit states that she hasn’t communicated with White about the children since Jackson’s death last month and that the statements that White made about their relationship and the exchange of information are categorically false.

The suit seeks unspecified damages, targeting the money that White was paid by Extra TV for the exclusive story they aired earlier this week.

A custody court hearing, which Debbie Rowe planned to attend on Monday July 20, has now been postponed until August 3 at 8:30 a.m. in Los Angeles Superior Court. The hearing has been canceled twice previously. No word on which legal team is requesting the continuance.
