Barefoot Baby Ousted from Burger King

 no barefoot babies

Jennifer Frederick and her six-month old baby Kaylin Frederich, were kicked out of a Burger King in St. Louis,  because the baby was barefoot.

Jennifer Frederich, along with baby Kaylin, the baby’s grandmother, and a church youth group of about 25, stopped by the Burger King on their way back from a Christian rock concert.

Citing health concerns, the manager asked Frederick to leave the restaurant.

Jennifer was told by the manager, “You can order ‘to go’ but you’re going to have to leave is she doesn’t have shoes on.  It’s against health code.”

“The guy was still saying, ‘That lady is still here with that baby without shoes’,” Frederich said. “I just looked at him and I said, ‘That’s my daughter. She doesn’t own shoes. She’s only 6 months old’… she doesn’t walk. She’s not touching the ground. So there’s no reason for her to have shoes on.”

In an effort to comply, Frederich put socks on the baby, but the manager threatened to call police if she didn’t leave.

Frederich posted her story on Facebook, and word about the incident quickly spread.

“People had to know about this…if you’re going to go to Burger King get some shoes on your baby or go somewhere else,” she said. “I think they [Burger King manageers] just need to understand, it’s a baby. They’re not going to be walking around in their dirty, nasty, feet. I feel like the policy was probably for grown adults who might walk in without shoes on. That’s understandable. But, baby’s don’t wear shoes.”

No shoes, no shirt, no service…indeed! Seriously?

  1. In Pennsylvania Burger king is not considered a deli so the store doesn’t have to wear sanitary gloves .Sneeze cough breathe .Watching these people work behind the counter .
    I’ll skip lunch.

It’s only a baby .no wonder the world is the way it is .Glad the manager isn’t a principal at a school or we all be burger idiots like him or in fast food prison

  2. The manager threatened to call the police if she didn’t leave..???!!! Who is this guy? Somebody please send over The Experts to check on the guy’s brain!!!Jeez!!!
Meanwhile over in NY a mother breastfeeding her hungry baby got a summons for doing it in a No Standing area! What is the world coming to?!!!(do excuse all my exclamation marks!)

  3. The so called stupid manager would have lost his job, and who would have been sued if this baby had been put down on the floor and she had swallowed a lost pill, dropped jewelry and choked or got cut? Store crew are paid to cook and man registers not babysit kids, and yes I have worked in fast food and have seen several parents place babies and toddlers on the floor barefoot and half clothed, then ignore them. There is a reason why they were made to leave, like most parents with small kids think they are exempt from store rules because they say so. I am glad the store manager held firm. People are way to sue happy now, so blame this on them.

  4. I followed my Mothers example early on, she whipped me when I deserved it, and she cried when she did it. I have never been arrested or hurt someone else. And even though I have problems from polio, I do not expect people to overlook a rule for me (no matter how petty) because of it. Your behavior imprints on your child very early on .. act like a dumbazz, raise a dumbazz, your choice.
