Jaycee Lee Dugard Pictures: Inside the Hellish Prison Compound
Disturbing pictures of the compound of makeshift tents and outbuildings where Jaycee Lee Dugard was held captive for 18-years have emerged.
Dugard and her two daughters, fathered by her captor Phillip Garrido, lived in squalor in the clutter-filled backyard of Garrido’s Antioch, CA, home.
A “Welcome” sign hangs over the entrance to the ramshackle outdoor prison with a makeshift bathroom and shower, where soiled sofas were used as beds, and stacks of junk littered the yard.
The photos provide a glimpse into the deplorable conditions Dugard endured as Garrido’s sex slave.
Over the years, neighbors caught glimpses of Dugard and the children, some even reporting to authorities that some people – including young children – were living in tents behind the home.
“We missed an opportunity to have intervened earlier,” Contra Costa County Sheriff Warren Rupf admitted, apologizing for not having found Jaycee sooner.”We are beating ourselves up over this.”
Dugard has been reunited with her mother, Terry Probyn, but there are already signs of difficulty. The day after the reunion, Probyn called her sister, Tina Dugard for emotional support.
“Terry’s freaked out and needs me. The child that was taken isn’t the same,” Tina’s neighbor quoted the sister as saying. “She didn’t use the word ‘brainwashed,’ but that’s how I interpreted it. She was having a hard time connecting.”

There are so many things about this case that anger me, but the fact that a British journalist paid the dirtbag neighbor to cut a hole in the fence of an active crime scene, where they have found human bones, that any evidence now collected has been compromised in terms of the chain of evidence that some of the charges against Garridos and his wife will never be charged. There are allegations that she had more children, male children who were killed shortly after birth, because Garridos was not interested in sex with boy children and they would be less compliant and harder to control as they grew up – with these photos and the contaminated crime scene he will probably not be charged – he is also have said to have invited men like latin laborers over for sex parties with Jaycee, and perhaps the older girl.
There should be a special place in hell for the sheriff’s and certainly the Chief who should have been dismissed for incompetence when this case came to light for never following up on the complaints or even running a background check to see if he was a sex offender on life time parole, who had complaints from neighbors 3 times about children being on the property, a violation of his parole. Then they weren’t even able to secure a crime scene, something so basic in a case like this and since he is a suspect in 3 other young girls deaths, and the deaths of 8 prostitutes who’s bodies were found near his former work place. The level of incompetence is so horrendous they should be sued, and perhaps imprisoned themselves.
As for Jaycee’s mother, her child probably barely remembers her and her captors had her for far longer than her family, it’s sad but she may truly be lost to her family and the madness she was forced to endure for so many long years – I have no idea how this woman and her children will ever be able to integrate back into society – not counting she still will have the trial to contend with.
Everything in her life that could go wrong did, on many occasions but the bottom line is the Antioch Sheriff’s failed her the most.
