Bollywood Actress Lisa Ray Diagnosed with Mulitple Myeloma Cancer
Canadian-born Bollywood actress Lisa Ray announced on her blog, “The Yellow Diaries,” that she has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma – an incurable cancer.
The 37-year-old actress and model was diagnosed with the illness on June 23, and began her first cycle of treatment on July 2.
“For me, it was a relief to hear what was wrong. The plasma cells in my bone marrow were rampaging, multiplying, squeezing out the red blood cells and it was time to begin doing something about it,” writes Lisa.
“I was also tired of being tired all the time. And you just know when something is not kosher with your body. So when I sat there with Bobcat- my life partner and reservoir of Yellow- and got the news I didn’t react and I didn’t cry. I’m an actress, believe me, I can be dramatic. Not just then though.”
Multiple myeloma, also known as MM, myeloma, plasma cell myeloma, or Kahler’s disease, is a rare bone marrow cancer affecting the white blood cells. Symptoms include bone pain, renal failure, anemia, and infection such as pneumonia. Although it is incurable, remissions may be induced with steroids, chemotherapy, thalidomide and stem cell transplants. Median survival is 50-55 months.
Lisa started her blog on September 3, 2009, to “give people an insight into my life,” under the heading “Never Stop Fighting.”

how are you? ok, lisa actually when i came to knew that ,you got diagnosed with”Multiple Myloma” i was really shockeD.
But thing which i actually want tell is ,my mother was too diagnosed with “Multiple Myloma” 12 years back and the docter told me she will leave for only 6 months , and she was bed ridden (she had the myloma in her spin)but i did not lose hope .
–HISTORY IN MY MOTHERS CASE—-
1.SHE WAS IN HER 4th STAGE.
2.SHE WAS GIVEN A COURSE OF 6 FOR RADIATION
(did not complete, left after 3 course)
3.HER HEMOGLOBIN WAS VERY LOW SO ,WE USED TO GIVE HER AROUND 4 TO 5 BOTTLES OF FRESH BLOOD.
But lisa once i was really depressed with all this routien ,which was there for nearly 1 1/2 yrs ,but one day i met a old friend and discused abt this ,he told me about the ayuverdic medicine , really lisa i did not belive but i tried as it was just a hope that my mother will be all right ,belive it or not know its 12 yrs and my mother can walk , she can do her own works by herself .And even doctors are surprised.
Lisa this is my mothers story .And the medicine is very simple …its just ALOVEERA JUICE ….BUT NOT PACKED ONE JUST TRY TO EXTRACT FROM LEAFS ,I WILL TELL THE RECIEPY LATER,because I,m writeing the mail when i read the news in news paper …
