Actress Nicole Richie and musician Joel Madden are the proud parents of a new baby boy.  Their newest bundle of joy weighed in at 7 lbs. 14 oz. and was born on 9/9/09.  The couple named their son Sparrow James Midnight Madden.

The couple announced Sparrow’s arrival on Nicole’s website yesterday, thanking everyone for their well wishes.  Joel and Nicole also have a daughter, 20-month-old Harlow Winter Kate Madden.

Following the arrival of Harlow, Nicole has kept her life low key and still manages to devote time to her maternity fashion line for A Pea in a Pod and her House of Harlow 1960 jewelry line.
