Singer Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley, Canadian musician, producer and frontman for the band Sum 41,  have decided after three years of marriage to go their separate ways.  They wed in July 2006.

In the current US Weekly magazine, 25-year-old Lavigne called an end to the marriage by tossing Whibley out of their 12,000 square foot $9.5 million Bel Air estate.   Divorce papers are expected to be filed within the next few days.

Rumors of marital trouble first surfaced in October 2008, while Lavigne was on her world tour.  At that time it was reported that Whibley was drinking and partying hard.
