Dr. Khristine Eroshevich, and internist Sandeep Kapoor prescribed what amounted to “pharmaceutical suicide” to Anna Nicole Smith, according to court documents.

In addition to charges of conspiring to provide Smith with controlled substances, Eroshevich, a psychiatrist, and Kapoor are being prosecuted for having sexual contact with a patient.

Photos found on Smith’s computer show the former Playboy model and Eroshevich naked and embracing in a bathtub just two months before her death, while a video taken at a fundraiser for charity shows a shirtless Kapoor kissing and nuzzling her.

According to the affidavit, Eroshevich went to a pharmacy for chloral hydrate the day after Smith’s son died in the Bahamas, telling the pharmacist she planned to use it as a sleep aid for Smith.

“I wouldn’t give her chloral hydrate unless you want your picture on the front page of the National Enquirer,” the pharmacist reported telling her of the drug.

Eroshevich got the prescription as well as one for a sedative.

Five days later she requested 300 tablets of methadone, two types of sedatives, a muscle relaxer, an anti-inflammatory drug and four bottles of Diluadid, a painkiller nicknamed “hospital heroin.”

The pharmacist, alarmed by the amount and combination of drugs, recalled thinking, “They are going to kill her with this.”  He called Kapoor and said he had no intention of filling a prescription that amounted to “pharmaceutical suicide.”

At the time of her death, Smith had prescriptions for 44 medications under at least nine aliases.  Nine medications were found in her system and a medical examiner labeled her death the result of “acute combined drug intoxication.”
