Kate Plus 8

jon and kate plus 8 becomes kate plus 8

In an announcement by TLC Tuesday morning, the network says that as of November 2, reality show “Jon and Kate Plus 8” will be renamed “Kate Plus 8.”

Jon Gosselin is being dropped from the show, which will begin to focus on Kate’s role as a single mom.

“Given the recent changes in the family dynamics, it only makes sense for us to refresh and recalibrate the program to keep pace with the family,” TLC president Eileen O’Neill said in a statement. “The family has evolved and we are attempting to evolve with it; we feel that Kate’s journey really resonates with our viewers.”

After the announcement of an impending divorce on the premiere of season five, which drew a record 9.8 million viewers, the show halted production for six weeks.

After the hiatus, ratings have continued to drop, with only 1.7 million viewers tuning in for the show last Monday.

    GO GURL!!!!

  2. So glad to hear the news. Now everyone should be happy. Jon got what he wanted not to be known or connected with the whole Jon& Kate plus eight. And Kate can go on with the kids, getting paid for spending time with them( what this stay at home Mom always dreamed of) What better job can any parent ask for. Jon will continue to be in front of the cameras if he doesnt wake up and straighten out his life. Its not the shows cameras hurting the children, its the ones following Jon and capturing t he bad choices he continues to make. Jon, please grow up or wake up.Those kids need you!
