Levi Johnston, the 19-year-old Alaska teen who fathered a son with Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol Palin, recently filmed a Get Crackin’ television commercial aimed at boosting sales within the pistachio industry.

Johnston’s last fleeting brush with fame came when he attended the Teen Choice Awards with comedian Kathy Griffin – photos here.  He is also on a three week exercise mission in order to buff up for a Playgirl photo shoot.

In his new commercial ad, the Alaskan boy stud ambles in with a swagger and a burly body guard in tow amid catcalls.  The tag line is “now Levi Johnston does it with protection”.   Could be a nod to his need for security from the paparazzi because of his new found fame but is more likely a commentary on the fact that he wasn’t using protection when Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston was conceived.

The $15 million Wonderful Pistachio ad campaign has been launched to renew America’s interest in the lowly little nut that took a big hit at the end of March 2009, with the announcement of a nationwide pistachio recall due to salmonella contamination.

Johnston, Wee-Man, Adrianne Curry, the Denny quintuplets and Christopher Knight have all filmed promotional ads.  We’ve included Levi’s clip as well as a behind the scenes video look at the film project.   Check them out below.
