Beyonce in Beijing…Too Provocative? (PHOTOS)
Beyonce performed at the Wukesong Arena in Beijing, China yesterday, as part of her “I Am… World Tour. She has been traveling the globe to promote her third studio album I Am… Sasha Fierce.
Other upcoming stops on this leg of the tour include Abu Dhabi, Moscow, Egypt, Greece and Liverpool. A planned performance in Malaysia was canceled after several groups threatened to protest her provocative clothing and image.

Shes over the top. Not that sexy.
It seems like she is a hoe. Why dress this way to perform a song? She got the leg thing going on and the big hair its like she wants to be one of the best like Tina Turner except she bypassed the short skirts that Tina use to wear and went stright to leotards. I feel bad for her that she is so rich and her image is use to promote so many products and yet her self esteem is so low she feels she has to show off her entire body to be successful. I wish her the best. Get back with your friends girl!

I don’t see anything wrong with Beyonce’s attire. She is an ENTERTAINER! She has come a long way from Destiny’s Child and has really come into her own. I don’t see insecurity, I see confidence. Like all Divas before her, she is in a place in her life where she sets the trend and she is doing a helluva job!
Give me a break. Her costumes are no more provocative than some I’ve seen in 1950s musicals (yes, really – go check out “Singing in The Rain” from 1952). She’s gorgeous and shapely. I think she looks like a fabulous show girl.
Meh…not a fan of Ms. “Bouncy” or her stage show. I can listen to her music if I don’t have to watch her.
I thought Beyonce had matured enough to come full circle with her image. Unfortunately, I was wrong. She is a pretty girl. But she needs to realize that she is married, and with that, should come some respect for her body as well as her career. Her clothes- the leotard thing — is way too provacative. She shouldn’t have to be ‘lil’kim, she should have a little more class. She’s made it, so why does she have to show ‘everything’? Something should be left to the imagination. She should be more of a lady and more respectful to her husband — but her image clearly shows how insecure she is, and we have to wonder if her husband is the reason for that. Her boob job is over the top — so sad that she had to go that far — she clearly has some insecurity issues.

I don’t understand it either. Why doesn’t she just cover up? You don’t have to be half naked to perform a song. Why doesn’t she find another stylist and when she travels to other countries she can read upon their cultures and dress appropriately and accordingly without disrespecting anyone. I think thats all she is and is going to be known for. her “assests” not her voice and definently not her acting skills.
It’s a freakin’ concert!!! I’m so tired of people complaining because a PERFORMER they PAY TO SEE is dressed “inappropriately.” STFU and don’t buy tickets then.
She looks like a chunk-a-dunk. She’s a gorgeous woman with a golden voice, but a one-trick pony. She should stick with what she knows best…. bumping and grinding. Leave the outlandish and weird costumes to GaGa and Madonna. They don’t wear her well.

Although ther’s no comparsion with Tina Turner, however, Tina was great in her day, but this is 2009 things changed and people change style changes, dances changes. Nothing stayes the same. So what do you want Beyonce to do. She is doing her thing.

@sm29: Sex is instrinsic to the product they’re selling; some are more sexualized than others. Name one global pop star who isn’t scantily -clad. You shouldn’t forge that in the music business there is more business than music; and record companies will exploit anything that will bring in revenue.
As far has her being over-provocative: In the Western market, no. We are very accustomed to seeing our entertainers cavort around on stage half-nude. In Asia, however, they are MUCH more conservative. I’m currently liviing in Korea, where a spaghetti-strapped top is considered risque.

there aint nothin wrong with Bee’s wardrobe its all part of entertainment and the look makes the entire thing exciting…if she was an opera singer or some serious musician then it would make sense to dress less provocatively..this is r&b and pop, so it should come with sexyness and eye-catching imagery…so let her be. I don’t understand people who make these hatters who wish they could be like Beyonce’. We raise our children to wear swim suits and leotards for tap and ballet but then want to balk at Beyonce. MS. Miss America and Miss, MS. Universe all parade around in swim suits what is the difference. We makeup our small little girls in costumes for pageants in all of the skimpy clothing. IN China and Japan too and all the other countries that have contestants in these pageants so what the hell is the big deal about Beyonce. when you point the one finger remember you have three pointing back at you.
