Strikeforce M-1 Global Nov 7, 2009 Fedor vs Rogers

The Strikeforce M-1 Global heavyweight bout between Fedor Emelianenko and Brett Rogers was held on Saturday, November 7, in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

The action ended at 1:48 with a TKO in the second round when Emelianenko (31-1) landed a right hook that sent Rogers (10-1) down to the mat and then delivered a series of punches to his face before referee John McCarthy ended the fight.

During the post-fight interview – see below – Fedor said he was never in trouble, his cut nose wasn’t an issue and the seven minute bout went down exactly as planned.

Next up for Emelianenko is a championship match against Alistair Overeem in April 2010.

  1. Fedor is a true champion. Rogers was an embarrassment to watch post fight. Shows the world how serious our societal problems are. US kids actually look up to the Rogers types. It hasn’t always been that way. Fedor demeanor is a breath of fresh air. I’m glad he kicked his ass…
