Canadian singer, 15-year-old Justin Bieber has had a big week. His debut album My World released on November 17, 2009. A planned meet-and-greet scheduled for Roosevelt Field Mall on Long Island, New York turned into a disaster earlier today, resulting in the arrest of a member of Bieber’s camp.

Island Def Jam Records exec James Roppo was arrested after a crowd of hysterical tweens caused a near-riot while waiting in line for autographs from the pop singing sensation. Fan arrived at 9 a.m. for the 4 o’clock event. Midway through the day a near stampede occurred, with fans breaking through rope lines and sending many sprawling to the floor.

Things got so out of control that police threatened to arrest Bieber and his fans. The overcapacity crowd could not be effectively controlled, forcing police to order Justin, his handlers and his fans to vacate the area immediately. According to police, Roppo continued to try to solicit fans, via Twitter, to come to the venue, even after police started to send the crowd away.

Bieber did the only thing he could think of with little time to spare. He took to his Twitter page and ‘tweeted’ a ‘go home’ message to the gathering fans. He said:

“They are not allowing me to come into the mall. If you don’t leave I and my fans will be arrested as the police just told us.”

“The event at Roosevelt mall is cancelled. Please go home. The police have already arrested one person from my camp. I don’t want anyone hurt.”

“I’m sorry to everyone who was in Long Island at the Mall 2day. i was just trying to come meet fans and never meant to disappoint anyone.”

Bieber has released four successful pre-album singles: One Time, One Less Lonely Girl, Love Me and Favorite Girl.
