Mariah Carey Vanessa Hudgens mother and daughter

Rumors are running rampant that diva Mariah Carey is being tapped to star in a big screen comedy takeoff on such reality shows as American Idol and X-Factor.  She would be cast as the mother of 21-year-old Vanessa Hudgens.

The resemblance between the two women is quite convincing and Mimi will turn 40-years-old in March — so it really isn’t a stretch that the two would be able to pull off the premise.

Nothing is cast in stone at this point.  There is some speculation that Carey may not take the bait because of her 2001 box office flop “Glitter” – see poster below.  She won an infamous Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actress – OUCH!

Carey is currently riding the wave of success and has received positive reviews by critics following her role as a social worker in the 2009 film “Precious”.  As for Vanessa, she is still living down those 32 naughty photos from 2007.

Rush Limbaugh Hospitalized

The outspoken conservative talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh called 911 from his 9th-floor hotel room after suffering chest pains yesterday.  Paramedics were dispatched to the scene and transported the patient to Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu.

According to KITV, he told the ambulance crew that he had been taking medication for a back problem.   He spent time golfing at Waialae Country Club earlier in the week.

Rush arrived in Hawaii on December 23rd.  Other high profile guests on the islands for the holiday’s include President Barack Obama and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

Bryan Cheplic, a spokesman for Honolulu Emergency Services would only say, “A man was taken from Kahala Hotel and Resort at 2:41 p.m..”

Kit Carson, chief of staff at the “Rush Limbaugh Show” wasn’t so tight lipped and reported, “Rush was admitted to and is resting comfortably at a Honolulu hospital today after suffering chest pains.”

Limbaugh, 58, who pulls in 14 million listeners each week, was scheduled to resume his radio show on January 4, 2010.  His website has posted the following statement:  “Rush appreciates your prayers and well wishes, and he will keep you updated via RushLimbaugh.com.”

The talk-radio host signed a new agreement last year with Clear Channel Communications extending his contract until 2016 for $400 million.

USA Today Gallup Poll Most Admired 2009

The tally is in on this year’s USA Today Gallup Poll for Most Admired People 2009.  The poll asked respondents: What man and woman living today do you admire the most?  The clear male winner was Barack Obama with 30% of the votes.  The female winner was nearly a dead heat between Hillary Rodham Clinton, who received 16 % of the votes and Sarah Palin with 15% of the votes.

Behind Obama were George W. Bush, 4%, Nelson Mandela, 3%, and a virtual four way tie between Glenn Beck, Pope Benedict XVI, Rev. Billy Graham and Bill Gates, who each garnered 2% of the votes cast.

Behind Clinton and Palin were Oprah Winfrey, 8%, Michelle Obama, 7%, Condoleezza Rice and Queen Elizabeth at 2%, and Margaret Thatcher and Maya Angelou with 1%.

This is the second year for all three of our top picks.  Last year Obama led the pack with 32%.  Hillary had 20% to Sarah’s 11%, which would seem to indicate the Palin has gained some appeal and Clinton has lost some ground.
