Jimmy Sullivan Avenged Sevenfold Drummer Dead (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

James Owen Sullivan, drummer and backup vocalist for rock band Avenged Sevenfold, was found dead at his Huntington Beach, California home on Monday, December 28, 2009. Sullivan was best known as ‘The Rev’ and was 28 at the time of his death.
Huntington Beach police Lt. John Domingo reported that paramedics responded to Sullivan’s home at 1:00 p.m. and they notified police. The Orange County Coroner’s office is investigating the death.
Avenged Sevenfold was formed in 1999. The five-man group has put out four albums and won Best New Artist at the 2006 MTV Awards. They are currently working on a fifth album according to member Zacky Vengeance. Other members include lead guitarist Synyster Gates, lead singer M. Shadows and bassist Johny Christ.
Before performing with Avenged Sevenfold, Sullivan was the drummer for the third wave ska band Suburban Legends. He was influenced by such drummers as Vinnie Paul, Mike Portnoy and Terry Bozzio and was also known as The Reverend Tholomew Plague, Rat Head, Mr. Plague, and Jimmy.

James was a amazing dude. One of the best drumers ever to live. I know he would want matt john and brian all to keep doing what they do best, rockin. Whether its for the fans or not. All our prayers go out to his family and the rest of the band. Long live Avenged Sevenfold. We love you guys
