ESPN SportsCenter anchor Scott Van Pelt got punked last night when he thought he was doing a live interview with former All-Pro running back Brian Westbrook, who was released on Tuesday from the Eagles after an eight-year career.
Turns out the caller was really Captain Janks from the “Howard Stern Show”. That fact came to light just 30 seconds into the interview when the fake Westbrook said, “I have nothing but respect for head coach Andy Reid and and I look forward to worshipping the prostate of Howard Stern.”
Van Pelt was momentarily taken aback before saying, “Oh boy, we got that, huh. So that worked out well.” Then he was rendered speechless before co-anchor Steve Levy took over.
On a slightly different note: ESPN announced yesterday that one of their anchors, Tony Kornheiser, was suspended for making disparaging remarks about SportsCenter anchor Hannah Storm – check that out here.
