Michael Bryan, who committed suicide on February 26, was laid to rest on Monday following a service to honor his life and memory at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel in Provo, Utah. Marie Osmond and hundreds of friends and family gathered for a funeral service that was presided over by Thomas S. Monson, president of the Morman LDS Church.

Each of Marie’s children took a turn at the podium to recall stories from Michael’s childhood. Near the end of the service, Marie delivered an emotional message to her seven brothers. She said, “As you see I have amazing support from great men, my family, my brothers. God was very wise when he put me into a family with honorable men because they have served as examples for my children.”

Osmond, 50, said she wanted to use this occasion to honor her children. She told them: “I’m so proud of each and every one of you. I’m proud of my son and I honor his birth mother who’s here today, who gave me the greatest gift. Thank you for those beautiful 18 years.”

Donny Osmond became emotional while delivering the Invocation and stopped for a moment to gather himself. He said, “Bless my sister. Bless my sister and her family. May she feel my love and my comfort.”

Donny & Marie went back to their Flamingo Las Vegas show Tuesday night – see emotional video from March 9, 2010 here.

Over the weekend, comedian Roseanne Barr wrote a scathing blog rant that was critical of the Mormon Church and Marie Osmond.
