Actor Michael Madsen of “Reservoir Dogs” fame, was put on suicide watch after he was picked up for being passed out in front of the entrance of Penventon Park Hotel in Cornwall, England. The actor was transported to Royal Cornwall Hospital on May 17, and was released four days later — reportedly returning to Los Angeles on May 21.

His stay at the hospital came after a nine-day drinking binge in Britain. The workers at the hotel reportedly were shocked by his erratic behavior and telephoned police.

The Sun reported that Madsen drank two bottles of wine for breakfast, and then spent the rest of the day boozing it up and popping pills. The staff at the hospital registered Michael as a “high risk” patient and placed him on suicide watch.

This isn’t the first time that the actor’s mental state has been questioned. Back in 2008 rumors circulated that Michael had been put on a mental hold at a Los Angeles hospital. His rep denied those rumors and said that his client was suffering from exhaustion and food poisoning.

His latest film, “Let the Game Begin”, will be released in the U.S. and internationally throughout 2010.
