Shannon Price: Gary Coleman Has Died (PHOTOS, VIDEO)
Former child star Gary Coleman, 42, was transported to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo on Wednesday for emergency treatment of head trauma sustained in a fall at his home in Santaquin, 55 miles south of Salt Lake City.
He was reportedly lucid early on but slipped into a coma on Thursday. He remained in the ICU in critical condition on total life support, according to the actors rep. Doctors determined that Coleman suffered a intracranial brain hemorrhage on Wednesday as a result of a fall.
UPDATE: The actor was removed from life support on Friday morning, and died at 12:05 PM MST. Family members and close friends were at Coleman’s bedside when life support was pulled. A press conference at the hospital is scheduled for 3:00 PM PT.
This was his third hospitalization in the past five months. He suffered seizures in January and February, the second occurred while he was doing a TV interview on The Insider. He also underwent heart surgery last fall that was complicated by pneumonia.
Coleman’s wife Shannon Price was with her husband, and had been communicating with their attorney, Randy Kester, via text messaging. She instructed him not to release any details until more was known. He did say, “Anything they could say would be premature because they don’t know the full extend of his condition right now.”
Price and her father released a statement to KUTV-TV that confirmed Coleman has “a serious medical problem.” Price asked for prayers and added, “we hope those prayers are answered and that Gary will be able to recover and return home soon.”
The couple appeared on Divorce Court before Judge Lynn Toler in 2008, and Her Honor was able to save the marriage.
Coleman is no stranger to trouble. He was involved in an automobile accident in 2008, striking a man in the knee and pulling him under the vehicle. He pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct and reckless driving in the case, and settled a civil suit for an undisclosed amount of money in January 2010.
The former “Diff’rent Strokes” actor isn’t the only family member to have trouble with the law. Shannon Price was arrested on a charge of domestic assault in July 2009.
In addition, Gary was cited for disorderly conduct in 2007 and 2009, and was arrested on a charge of domestic violence assault against his wife in January 2010. Several of those charges are still pending.

He will be missed. I liked seeing him pop up every once in a while. I grew up watching different strokes and loved waiting for the new show to air every week. Its another sad day in tv land.

They had an UNconsumated “marriage”-of-convenience
after ‘she’ had proposed to (and later abused) ‘him’.
Now the tragic life of that man has ended and —
it looks like “he’s dead because of the redhead”!!
It sounds like he could have lived had she applied the pressure to the back of his head. Something sounds stinky! Really sad story here!
