Actor John Corbett, 49, was a guest Friday on Live With Regis and Kelly. When questioned about his long time girlfriend, 53-year-old Bo Derek, the "Sex and the City 2" star let slip the fact that they have been talking about marriage and it will happen in the not-too-distant-future.
His partner of eight years was married for 30 years to film director John Derek. They met when she was auditioning for a part back in her teen years. He divorced actress Linda Evans and fled to Germany with Bo, 16, in order to avoid statutory rape charges. They returned to the U.S. after her 18th birthday and married in 1976. They remained happily so until his death in 1998.
She co-starred in the 1979 Blake Edwards film "10". The role catapulted her to instant fame and she became a sex symbol overnight. She made frequent appearances on the cover of Playboy. She achieved only modest success in future film work.
Corbett is best known for his role as Chris Stevens on the television series Northern Exposure that ran from 1990-1995. He also played Carrie Bradshaw's boyfriend on 22 episodes of Sex and the City in 2001-2002. His current television role has him co-starring opposite Toni Collette on the Showtime series The United States of Tara.
