Cher flew in from Las Vegas on Friday to attend the opening of son Elijah Blue Allman‘s satellite exhibition ‘Stuff of Legends’ at the Madison Gallery in Malibu. Also on hand was the artist’s half-brother Chaz Bono and his partner Jennifer Elia.
The exhibit consists of a series of paintings and installations that will be on display from July 2 – August 2, 2010. Allman’s inaugural exhibition “Step and Repeat”, at the Kantor Gallery from February 25 – April 2, 2010, was a sell out, with the Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art acquiring the final piece.
The artist, 34, is the son of musician Gregg Allman, who was married to Cher from 1975-1979. The founder of the Allman Brothers Band underwent a successful liver transplant on June 23, 2010.
Cher at the Colosseum debuted from Caesars Palace in May 2008. She is being paid $60 million to do 200 shows over a three year period. Her act includes eighteen dancers and four aerialists. Her array of costumes were created by designer Bob Mackie, who has dressed her since her Sonny & Cher days.
