Alex King Child Murderer on Larry King Live (PHOTOS, VIDEO)
Alex King was just 12-year-old when he and his brother Derek King, 13, killed their father Terry King in his Florida home. Alex sat down for an interview on Larry King Live last night to discuss aspects of the case and his current situation.
The youngsters bludgeoned their 40-year-old father’s skull with a baseball bat and then set fire to the house to hide evidence of their crime. They were convicted of third degree murder and were sentenced to juvenile detention facilities.
Alex served 7-years and was released in 2008. His brother, who now lives in Jacksonville and is attending college, served 8-years and was set free in 2009 – full details here.
Accompanying Alex on the show last night was Kathy, who described herself as the 20-year-old’s “unofficial adopted mother”.
One subject was off limits during the Larry King interview. Alex would not discuss the actual attack on his father but did tell the talk show host that he has “made peace with that.”

I did 7 years 5 months in Federal Prison and turned my life around. But the young man Alex King needs to be in prison. He killed another Human and is not a hero or victim. Again the justice system failed to send the right message. It is not ok to kill. Shame on Alex King…No remorse no lesson learned.
Frank, you’re an idiot. You have no idea how amazing of a person Alex King is. His heart is bigger than your brain and for you to sit and honestly waste your time evaluating whether you think he needs to be in prison or not off of one TV segment proves that. The justice system might have enabled the metamorphosis that occurred within him but his transformation from what society would call “a troubled child” to a smart, loving and kind person can be attributed to him and solely him. You did 7 years so you should praise him for having had the strength to strive and continue, despite the constant criticism, for he too turned his life around. He is not a hero, not a victim, he’s just another person trying to make it in this world and it proves difficult when there are vapid people like you publishing stupidities on the internet. How can the quality of a person be determined by a TV segment? Shame on you, Frank…no real basis for your stupid opinion, no real opinion at all.
Erika, you’re the one who is the idiot. Frank, like every other logical person, has judged him on the crime he commited and lack of remorse he has shown. It’s glaringly apparent that he is far from sorry about what he has done. Someone who has a big heart does not do what he did. He seems like the type of person who will do anything to get ahead. You should really take into account the facts before making such stupid statements.
