Lady Gaga redeemed herself Friday night at Lollapalooza after critics bashed her 2007 performance at the Chicago mega-music festival.

Unlike her Monster Ball world tour, Gaga kept her costume changes to a minimum, opening the concert wearing an electric blue jacket with huge shoulder pads, then putting on a red cape, before changing into a transparent dress.

“Three years ago I played a side-stage. Now I’m on the main stage, and it feels pretty (expletive) great,” Gaga told her 80,000 screaming fans.

Getting emotional before her “Speechless” performance, the pop star thanked her dad for being her inspiration, and dedicated the song to “all the drunken a–holes in my life.”

“My name is Lady Gaga. I thank you for coming to my show. I didn’t used to be brave. In fact I wasn’t very brave at all,” she told her fans. “But you have made me brave, little monsters. So now I’m going to brave for you. Tonight, I want you to free yourself.”

It seems Gaga has also freed herself…from her critics.
