After eight seasons on Saturday Night Live, Will Forte is leaving to pursue other projects.  In a short and to the point statement, a rep for the funnyman confirmed the news.

“He is eternally grateful to Lorne Michaels and all of the incredible people he worked with over the years.”

The 40-year-old, whose MacGruber character evolved on SNL, is best known for his dancing skit with Peyton Manning, that was voted the #7 all time best skit on the show.
