Mark Zuckerberg and girlfriend Priscilla Chan
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is off the market ladies. Zuckerberg, 26, met his girlfriend, Priscilla Chan, while waiting in line for the bathroom at a fraternity party in his sophomore year at Harvard.
“He was this nerdy guy who was just a little bit out there,” Chan said in an interview with The New Yorker. “I remember he had these beer glasses that said ‘pound include beer dot H.’ It’s a tag for C++. It’s like college humor but with a nerdy, computer-science appeal.”
Chan, a Chinese-American from the Boston suburbs, is a third-year medical student at the University of California San Francisco who dreams of becoming a pediatrician. She followed Zuck, as he is known to his friends, to Silicon Valley after he dropped out of Harvard at the end of his sophomore year, when Facebook took off.
The couple eventually plans to marry, but they have not released details.
Notoriously private, the baby-faced young man named "our new Caesar" by Vanity Fair, rarely speaks to the press, however, his 879 Facebook friends have access to personal info including photos, likes, email address, phone number and even where he is through Facebook's feature "Places."
According to the October issue of the magazine, Zuckerberg stands to become one of the richest men on the planet, and one of the youngest billionaires if Facebook decides to go public.
The Social Network, a film about the rise of Facebook, opens October 1st.
