ESPN Magazine: The Body Issue 2010 featuring 40 amazing athletes, some clothed and others fully exposed in artistically modest poses. The second annual edition celebrates and explores the athletic form through photographs and interviews. Diverse shapes, sizes, colors, genders and race were all part of the eclectic mix.
The issue has the look and feel of the wildly popular Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
The pictorial feature, Bodies We Want, includes NFL linebacker Patrick Willis, skier Julia Mancuso, surfer Kelly Slater, figure skater Evan Lysacek and former NFL running back Herschel Walker, who is now a mixed martial artist.
Also included are WNBA star Diana Taurasi, soccer player Tim Howard, bobsledder Steven Holcomb, and billiards champ Jeanette Lee.
Taurasi, featured in the top two photos, plays for the Phoenix Mercury. The 28-year-old was named WNBA MVP in 2009, leading her team to its second championship in three years.
She said: "Doing the shoot was something new and I had fun with it. For me, doing this was about facing the challenge and celebrating everything all of our bodies have been through and done."
