Sean Penn Goes Goth (PHOTOS)

Photographers captured actor Sean Penn on the set of This Must Be The Place during filming in Central Park earlier this week.  He was definitely embracing the goth subculture, right down to the lipstick.

Penn is cast in the role of a retired rocker who is on a mission to track down his ex-Nazi war criminal father’s executioner.

Actress Frances McDormand co-stars in the project directed by Paolo Sorrentino.  The flick is slated to hit theaters on New Year’s Day.

Dare we suggest that Penn would make a great drag queen?
