The Shape saga continues. Earlier today it was revealed that editor-in-chief Valerie Latona had regrets about putting LeAnn Rimes on the October cover of Shape.

The admission was in response to outraged readers. An e-mail from Latona said: “Putting her on the cover was not meant to put a husband-stealer on a pedestal. Shape has made a terrible mistake.”

Rimes took to her Twitter page this morning: “Just so all my fans know, I’m getting to the bottom of this. It’s the first I’ve heard of this. Shape is throwing me a party next week as a thank you and a congrats for being on their cover for the third time. I find this very contradictory.”

The Shape editor is now backpedaling, claiming her words were taken out of context. She clarified: “A mere 40 readers out of six million readers wrote to complain about Rimes. I wrote to these women apologizing that our cover choice did not make them happy, as I have done for other cover stars in the past.”
