Kim Kardashian was sporting a new hairdo during her workout on Thursday at an L.A. gym. The gorgeous brunette revealed cornrows.

The reality star was involved in a three day music video shoot with Kanye West. She ‘tweeted’ about the transformation on her Twitter page: “Day #3 Night shoot! I’m fighting hair and makeup….this look is a little cray cray, but I’m going for it!”

So what does she have planned for New Year’s Eve? She is hosting a Vegas gig at Tao. Will she still be rocking the cornrows when the clock strikes midnight? We’re guessing NOT.

Kardashian, by the way, was the #1 searched celebrity on Facebook in 2010. She didn’t fare as well on Twitter but she certainly provided her followers with a multitude of Twitpics — check out some of our favorites below:

New life for Kathy Griffin … CNN ban lifted

Kathy Griffin will be ringing in 2011 from Times Square again this year with CNN’s Anderson Cooper. Their prelude to the New Year’s Eve ball drop has been a source of several controversial moments on live television by the always irreverent comedian.

Two years ago the funny woman got on her high horse for an impromptu open mic rant unleashed at someone in the crowd. The network proceeded to add a no-cursing clause to her contract last year.

Despite the new rules, she dropped the F-bomb during the New Year’s 2010 show and was promptly banned from CNN – see it below. But that was then and this is now…

Kathy reports: “Yes, I was fired. They issued a statement. I was banned from CNN and then as Anderson Cooper says, ‘There was a change in management’ which was great because the guy who fired me got fired, so being the cockroach that I am, I’m just going to outlast everybody.”

She joked: “I have a simple goal, which is to get Anderson Cooper fired by the end of the night.”

Snooki got a jump on her competition …

Snooki Polizzi will help ring in 2011 with a ball drop spectacle on MTV tonight. Initially it was to have taken place live at Times Square. Within the past few days that idea was nixed and the event was filmed last night at the Jersey Shore.

The video will be shown tonight during MTV’s New Year’s Eve Bash 2011. A show rep said: “We love our Times Square home and while we’re disappointed there won’t be a Snooki ball drop there, she cannot be denied! So we’re taking a road trip to the place where it all began, Seaside Heights, and droppin’ it all there.”

John Mellencamp and Elaine Irwin Mellencamp have decided to part ways after a two decade relationship and 18 years of marriage — considered nearly a lifetime in the entertainment business.

The musician’s rep made a statement about the split: “They are proud of their 20 years together and are very happy with their accomplishments both as parents and as a family. They will continue to raise their two children in Indiana but have decided to call it a day as a couple.”

Back in 1991 they met when Elaine was 23-years-old and taking the modeling world by storm. The blonde beauty posed for John’s album cover Whenever We Wanted. Their courtship took the fast track and they were engaged 10 weeks later.
